There have been so many families who have owned Betsy before us, at least ten so I think the chance of finding money would be low, but you never know! mel xBungalowgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591099131301027446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8810235498252474096.post-19740516421229776802013-05-16T17:13:59.656+10:002013-05-16T17:13:59.656+10:00We found newspapers under the lino in our old hous...We found newspapers under the lino in our old house but I think ours were only from a 70's vintage. We actually had a lino ripping up party and had a heap of mates come and help. Only the kitchen and 4th bedroom have intact lino in Betsy and it looked reasonably recent so I wasn't really expecting to find anything. I bet there are some awesome 40's advertising in your papers. mel xBungalowgirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591099131301027446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8810235498252474096.post-9507751963693168152013-05-16T16:46:28.406+10:002013-05-16T16:46:28.406+10:00Wow, yes you must! Down the back of this old chest of drawers was a curious brown paper packet. We thought 'treasure!' and tentatively opened it. At first glance it was one of those plastic-ensleeved coin sets you get from the Post Office, from about 1988. Interesting... but not treasure. BUT then when we opened it another envelope fell out, and inside that was a wad of the old paper one-dollar notes, the brown ones, mint condition, still wrapped in the bank sleeve, all numbered consequentially. That made the find more exciting! But THEN... we see that sello-taped inside the plastic sleeve of the coin set was another coin, an old one. It glimmered yellowly as we turned it to the light of the worklamp... my breath caught in my throat... it was a solid gold sovereign, from the late 1800s. TREASURE!<br />I love Betsy's hidden blue starry floor... I look forward to seeing more!kuber...https://www.blogger.com/profile/10573584709105936012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8810235498252474096.post-45843528796745265442013-05-16T15:27:05.656+10:002013-05-16T15:27:05.656+10:00It looks like it would have been a fairly funky fl...It looks like it would have been a fairly funky floor....!A Farmer's Wifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17094401205258678969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8810235498252474096.post-57171645871269696882013-05-16T14:55:57.306+10:002013-05-16T14:55:57.306+10:00Interesting find - let's hope you find an old ...Interesting find - let's hope you find an old box with some money stashed in it.
