Giving Back

Thank you for all the lovely feedback on my first attempts at frocks. As I mentioned last post, after 200 posts,  now just over 200 followers and nearly two years of blogging, it was definitely time for a thank you in return.

I started blogging as an attempt to re establish some creativity in a life consumed by a having a complicated child. I had no idea that noticing and recording the small things in my complicated world would have such an impact on how I felt about my life and especially my children. The unexpected icing on the cake was the connection to all those other mothers relishing their children, crafting themselves happy, renovating houses and appreciating the joy of vintage sheets. Thank you all for your kind words, advice and inspiration.

So without further ado, I would like to announce a little giveaway to share the goodies around, so to speak.  There are three parts to this giveaway, and you can enter for just one or all three. First up is a set of eight vintage sheet fat quarters in the brightest colours, the absolute favourites in my stash. This part of the giveaway is open to all Australian and New Zealand Bloggers.

Part two, includes some recent op shop treasures that I already have but were too lovely to leave behind. A gorgeous bessemer tray, an Enid Blyton novel and a tiny handmade mushroom (more about these later). This part is only open to Australian bloggers ( these are heavy, and international postage is scary).

Part three is open to everyone, anywhere in the world. A selection of vintage wallpapers and a small bundle of vintage sheet scraps.

So, if you want to enter, just make sure you are a follower of my blog and leave me a comment on the post telling me if you are entering for parts 1, 2 or 3 or any combination. The giveaway will close this time next Monday.

If you are not into vintage sheets, wallpaper and Enid Blyton, I do apologise. I may have a selection of doors, windows, floorboards and a carport to  get rid of  offer you in the new year.

Disclaimer - the fat quarters may have some decidedly wonky edges, cutting fabric is not a precision sport for me.

  2. I completely understand why you stared to blog, the 'side affects' are rather wonderful don't you think! I also understand about postage, it's all getting quite scary, it no wonder everything is costing so much!
Please could you pop me in pile 3 please! :)

  4. I have been reading your blog for quite a while, but not long enough to know that you have a complicated child, I have one of those as well.
I happen to love vintage sheets myself and I would be thrilled to win them or the wallpapers (1 or 3). I hope Bessemer doesn't take it personally but I'm still traumatised by mothers obsession with their pans...
I am jealous of your sheets every time you post them!! Most of my local thrift stores have caught onto their vintage fashionable-for-now worth... No bargains for me..

  5. Oh count me in for number 2 please! I love the fabrics but not being crafty means they would go to waste with me. But I do love a bit of Bessemer & old books. I've enjoyed following your blog & seeing your creative & stunning style throughout your posts. Congrats on 200 followers & posts! Xx

  6. If I had access to my sister's sewing machine, I would gladly go the sheets. We did a patchwork quilting course years ago and I actually made a couple of cot-sized quilts for friends of mine that were about to have their first babies. Sadly I never got around to making any quilts for my own kiddos:( I did not know about your complicated child either, but I fully understand what it's like as my eldest has ASD. xx

  7. Well done on making it the 200's. I love all your delightful goodies but I already have the book of brownies. It has been in my possession since I was seven and is still one of my faves. So 1 or 3 would be wonderful thank you.

  10. How can I resist joining in as I've looked with my tongue hanging out at so many of your fabrics and your home really. In Uk so it'll have to be the no 3 pot for me I guess.

Glad you are blogging as once I found you I've loved your imagery and humour.

  11. Has it been two years? You are one of the first blogs I started reading after I left work with number 5. Those were the days. You know i'll be in any or all of those babies and I'll even come and pick it up to save the postage! Looked for your caves on Sunday between storms on Mt Gravatt. I've been promising the kids all year but only felt up to it now. Still couldn't find them. Must have been the wrong track- literally.

  16. I have only recently found your blog and really enjoyed reading through your archived posts. I too have a complicated son - craft, collecting and gardening have given me my own little distraction from the hard times with him. The plus is that he has shown me how to appreciate the simple things in life and to value being his travelling companion on his journey.
Anyway ... I love to be included in your giveaway 1 and 3. Thanks for your generosity.
