39/40

a portrait of my children, once  a week, every week in 2013 via Che and Fidel

He : is no longer intimidated by the size of the book, or the number of words on the page. He has the reading bug and we cannot get back to the library fast enough to feed his habit. Oh happy days.

She : this is the face of child holiday labour. See the joy with which she flings those chunks of concrete into that barrow ( actually I think that one of these went more in her brother's direction).

  1. Oh the concrete flinger reminds me of myself quite a few years ago when we were renoing our house and we had skips and skips (dumpsters) of rubbish and lumps of stuff, how I loved chucking stuff in the skip and hearing it clatter around, most satisfying. Who knew it could give such joy!

  3. Oh to be a child and be able to curl up and get lost in a book all day...I remember spending days with my nose in a book, only surfacing long enough to pick out my next read.
